SEAN FEGAN: He Traveled the World

SeanThe day Sean Fegan got to meet privately with the New York Yankees, his sister Anne Marie nearly lost her mind with envy and excitement. But Mr. Fegan? Well, he was unfazed.

"I would have killed to go, but he said he had other plans," said Ms. Fegan. "What other plans could be more important than the meeting Yankees?"

Mr. Fegan was a broker with Fred Alger Management, and it was through his job, at a charity event, that he got to meet the Yankees. The only thing that got him really excited, his sister said, was traveling around the world. Every year, he would grab his passport and head as far his savings would take him - Spain, Italy, Nice, Monaco, Ireland. Mr. Fegan, 34, saw them all, but never in the way that most tourists did. "He would head straight for the smallest town he could find, anywhere where there were no tourists."

And no matter where in the world he was, like clockwork, Mr. Fegan would call home to check in with mom and dad. On Sept. 11, he never got a chance to.
